Learning English blog – Listening exercises / conversations and quizzes

Students love studying grammar and also do lots of reading activity. However, they usually don’t practice listening as much as they should. Students tend to only do listening activities in the classroom and not at home. Practice listening is VERY important and today we have a great site to share with many listening exercises.

The more we practice listening the better our English will get. Studying only grammar is not the solution. You might pass test but listening is as important as grammar. In fact, it is the natural way of learning a language. We need to let our mind and ears get used to listening to phrases and structures in context. If we hear a phrase in context many times, we have more chances of using it when we have a conversation Many students know grammar and structures but when they talk in English they cannot be fluent. this happens because they need to practice more and listening activities is a great way.

I strongly suggest practicing listening as much as you can. And remember that it is better to listen to activities that fit your level. If you are a beginner student, then listen to beginner English audios. Go step by step and PRACTICE!

The ESL-LAB is a great place to find English audios. There are plenty to choose from and they all come with exercises. There are quizzes and also English conversation audios or communicative activities which are organized by levels. Make it a habit and don’t forget the importance of listening when you study and learn English.
